Abstract

La presente investigación se enfoca en analizar un problema común al que se enfrentan organizaciones encargadas de implementar la metodología Seis Sigma: la ineficiente evaluación financiera de proyectos. En empresas mexicanas se dificulta ver reflejados en estados financieros los beneficios reales de los proyectos elaborados con dicha metodología. El método utilizado se basa en revisiones bibliográficas y trabajo de campo mediante entrevistas y cuestionarios aplicados a personal experto en la implementación de esta metodología. El resultado de esta investigación es un modelo de administración de costos que pueda ser integrado a la metodología Seis Sigma y permita un seguimiento financiero (cuantificación) de los beneficios en la implementación de esta metodología. A pesar de que esta investigación se orienta a Seis Sigma, es posible aplicar el modelo a otras metodologías que incluyan la planeación y ejecución de proyectos. El modelo incluye elementos relevantes de la administración de costos en base al valor agregado de las actividades ejecutadas en los proyectos en cuestión así como aspectos críticos a contemplar para la correcta cuantificación y evaluación financiera de los mismos.
