Cuantificación del riesgo de inversión en un proyecto de cogeneración mediante el uso del valor en riesgo (VaR)

Abstract

El presente trabajo trata sobre el análisis de riesgo bajo un ambiente de incertidumbre, utilizando como herramienta de análisis y cuantificación de este riesgo el Valor en Riesgo (VaR) en proyectos de cogeneración. Tomando como variables de riesgo a cuantificarse el precio del gas natural, precio de la tarifa eléctrica, tasa de interés y tipo de cambio, considerando lo publicado mensualmente por las correspondientes instancias que regulan estas variables desde el año 2000 hasta el 2005. Los resultados obtenidos muestran la factibilidad de usar esta herramienta en la cuantificación del riesgo, que la metodología es valida para proyectos industriales y no solo usado en el mercado de valores como generalmente se utiliza. Además muestra el valor del riesgo máximo de pérdida económica en la inversión de estos proyectos, dando la oportunidad al industrial o al inversionista tener un valor que le permita tener un mayor conocimiento del riesgo que implica invertir en estos proyectos, con la finalidad de que tenga información suficiente para la toma de decisión.
