Abstract

Partiendo del análisis de lo que significa el Control de Autoridades, nace la propuesta de establecer una metodología básica para crear una base de datos compartida para países latinoamericanos, misma que pretende ofrecer una alternativa para la normalización de los puntos de acceso, apegada a un estricto control bibliográfico, así como a un apego indiscutible a la normativa internacional desarrollada para el control de autoridades. A través de un análisis de la situación actual en América Latina, de los diversos proyectos o propuestas existentes, del desarrollo de la normalización bibliográfica, se intenta presentar una solución que desde la cooperación bibliotecaria ayude a las entidades y/o unidades de información interesadas en la normalización de sus puntos de acceso, para la creación de registros de autoridad calcográfica. De ahí que la recomendación para seguir la metodología propuesta se puede sintetizar en los siguientes pasos: 1. Asegurarse que no existe un registro de autoridad que represente el mismo tema 2. Establecer el o los términos que designan en forma específica el concepto 3. Determinar la estructura del encabezamiento 4. Establecer las estructuras de relaciones 5. Especificar el uso y alcance del encabezamiento 6. Registrar las fuentes consultadas.
