El impacto de la irrupción de la marca de distribuidor en la cartera de negocios de la marca de fabricante: análisis del mercado de yogures español

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza las consecuencias de la irrupción de la marca de distribuidor en la cartera de productos de las marca del fabricante en el mercado de yogures español a lo largo del periodo 2003-2012. Dicho mercado resulta particularmente interesante al estar caracterizado por una situación oligopolística en el que la marca Danone y las marcas de distribuidor se reparten casi a partes iguales el 95% del mercado. Los resultados también recogen un cambio en la evolución natural de la cartera de productos de la marca de fabricante, alejándola de la trayectoria ideal. Esta situación conduce a las marca del fabricante hacia una cartera de productos exenta de marcas capaces de generar tesorería, cuestionando el interés para las marcas de fabricante sobre la rentabilidad de la innovación y el lanzamiento de nuevos productos al mercado.
