Kjønnede oppfatninger om eldre arbeidstakere? Analyser av befolkningens syn på kvinners og menns arbeidsprestasjoner, fleksibilitet og teknologiske kompetanse

Abstract

Dette notatet undersøker hvilke oppfatninger befolkningen har om eldre arbeidstakeres arbeidsprestasjoner, fleksibilitet og teknologiske kompetanse, og om disse oppfatningene varierer avhengig av om man spør om kvinnelige eller mannlige arbeidstakere. Analysen er basert på tre spørsmål fra CORE SURVEY 2022 – Likestillingsundersøkelsen, der halvparten av respondentene ble spurt om hvilke oppfatninger de har om kvinnelige eldre arbeidstakere, og den andre halvparten om hvilke oppfatninger de har om mannlige eldre arbeidstakere. Befolkningen har overveiende positive oppfatninger om eldre arbeidstakeres produktivitet og ønske om å lære nye ting, mens oppfatningene om eldre arbeidstakeres teknologiske kompetanse er mer delte. Befolkningen uttrykker litt mer positive oppfatninger om kvinnelige enn om mannlige eldre arbeidstakere. Oppfatningene varierer mellom ulike grupper i befolkningen. Kvinner har mer positive oppfatninger om både kvinnelige og mannlige eldre arbeidstakere enn det menn har, og eldre aldersgrupper har mer positive oppfatninger enn de yngste aldersgruppene. Analysene viser også at de som mener at diskriminering av eldre er utbredt i samfunnet generelt, utrykker mer positive oppfatninger om eldre arbeidstakere enn de som mener at slik diskriminering sjelden forekommer.
