Migrasjon som undergang og nyskaping. Señales que precederán al fin del mundo av Yuri Herrera.

Abstract

Dette kapitlet tar for seg migrasjons- og identitetstematikk i Señales que precederán al fin del mundo (2009) av Yuri Herrera. Forfatterens bruk av mytisk materiale innebærer en forflytning fra et nasjonalt, ontologisk perspektiv («det meksikanske») til et postnasjonalt migrantperspektiv. Migrasjon sidestilles med dødserfaring, men også forvandling og nytt liv. Romanen fremviser en rettsløs migrantverden samtidig som den også formidler en sterk tro på språk og kommunikasjon, og rommer slik sett både en dystopisk og utopisk visjon av det postnasjonale.
