Holdninger til innvandrere og innvandring 2012

Abstract

Undersøkelsen av holdninger til innvandrere og innvandring, som ble gjennomført av Statistisk sentralbyrå i juli og august 2012, viser at en større andel enn året før sluttet seg til påstanden ”Innvandrere flest gjør en nyttig innsats i norsk arbeidsliv”. Andelen som sa seg helt eller nokså enig, økte med 5 prosentpoeng fra 2011, mens andelen som var uenige eller som svarte ”både og”, gikk ned med 2 prosentpoeng hver. Endringen er statistisk signifikant. Det er nå 80 prosent som er enig i at innvandrere gjør en nyttig innsats i arbeidslivet, den høyeste andelen som hittil er målt. 11 prosent er helt eller nokså uenige i påstanden, mens 9 prosent svarer ”både og” og 1 prosent ”vet ikke”. Økningen i andelen som mener at innvandrere flest gjør en nyttig innsats i arbeidslivet, kan ha sammenheng med at Norge er inne i en konjunkturoppgang samtidig som arbeidsinnvandringen er rekordhøy. Arbeidsinnvandringen omtales gjerne som en bidragsyter til den økonomiske oppgangen i Norge – en oppgang som står i sterk kontrast til statsgjeldskrisen og nedgangstidene i Sør-Europa.
