Conclusion: I have examined the informants' assessment of their own guidance in various phases of an ambulance mission. I have also analysed the differences in guidance between regular ambulance missions and emergency missions. Furthermore, I have explored the practice supervisors' use of reflective guidance and its significance for the students' experiences and learning. The main findings show that the supervisors tailor the guidance individually to each student, starting with supportive guidance and gradually increasing the student's responsibility. The students are challenged to take the lead in patient management, and reflective questions are used in post-guidance sessions. Guidance in all phases of the mission and experience with different patient challenges and urgency levels are crucial for becoming a skilled paramedic. Further research is needed on guidance in such situations. Increased supervisor competence will have an impact on the students, patients, and the academic field. Purpose and Objectives: The main focus of the study is to examine the guidance provided before, during, and after ambulance missions, with a specific focus on whether the guidance differs in emergency and demanding missions. By inter-viewing practice supervisors, I aimed to understand how they perceive their choice of guidance methods contributes to enhancing the learning of paramedic students during ambulance missions. Additionally, the study aimed to strengthen guidance competence in the field by inspiring some individuals with the theme and content. Research Methodology: A qualitative research approach was chosen to gain insight into the guidance methods used by ambulance workers in guiding paramedic students. The task adopts a phenomenological-hermeneutic perspective. To gather data, a semi-structured interview was chosen as the research method. The sample consisted of six experienced informants (ambulance workers) from various services across Norway. A theme-centered analysis strategy was employed for analysing the data. The findings were discussed in relation to the theories and research presented in the study.
