Oppføling og opplæring av pasienter med diabetes mellitus type 2 i hjemmesykepleien

Abstract

Bakgrunn Flere lever med DM2 (diabetes mellitus type 2) også uten å vite om det. Dersom sykepleier har kunnskap om sykdom og behandling kan det bidra til å bremse utvikling av sykdom og senkomplikasjoner. Vi opplever at ansatte i hjemmesykepleien har utilstrekkelig kunnskap om konsekvensene av dårlig regulert blodglukose og hvilke komplikasjoner det medfører. Hensikt Hensikten med oppgaven å se på hvordan sykepleier i hjemmesykepleien kan sikre oppfølging og opplæring av pasienter med DM2 for å styrke pasientens egenomsorg og utsette utvikling av senkomplikasjoner. Metode I oppgaven har vi brukt integrativt litteraturstudie hvor vi har brukt tidligere forskning for å få kunnskap rundt tema. Vi brukte resultatene fra fire vitenskapelige artikler sammen med relevant teori og egne refleksjoner til å besvare vår hensikt. Resultater Resultatene viser at sykepleiere har utilstrekkelig kunnskap om risikofaktorer for senkomplikasjoner ved DM2 samt at det er manglende dokumentasjon av nødvendig informasjon om sykdommen. I tillegg har pasienter ofte utfordringer med egenmestring og motivasjon for endring av sine levevaner.
