Hjemmeboende eldres opplevelse av velferdsteknologi

Abstract

Bakgrunn: Andelen eldre i Norge har økt og vil fortsette å øke framover, mens antall yrkesaktive minker. Velferdsteknologi forespeiles som en av bærebjelkene til å ivareta kvaliteten i framtidens helsevesen. Samtidig kan det ses på som et virkemiddel som fremmer deltakelse og empowerment til brukeren, tilpasset deres behov. Hensikt: Hensikten med oppgaven er å få økt kunnskap om hvordan hjemmeboende eldre opplever velferdsteknologi. Metode: Oppgaven bruker integrativ litteraturoversikt som metode, basert på fire kvalitative forskningsartikler. Resultatet fra analysen av forskningsartiklene, relevant teori og egne refleksjoner danner grunnlaget for drøftingen. Resultater: Resultatene tyder på at hjemmeboende eldre i stor grad oppfatter velferdsteknologi som nyttig. Flertallet hadde erfaring med teknologi, noe som kan tenkes å senke terskelen for å ta i bruk velferdsteknologi. Det varierte hvor involverte brukerne var i å anskaffe velferdsteknologi, samt hvor involverte de ønsket å være i dette. Funnene tyder på at deres opplevelse av trygghet og selvstendighet ble ivaretatt. Videre ble utfordringer relatert til falsk trygghet, stigma, personvershensyn og isolasjon identifisert.
