Abstract

Bakgrunn Så mange som én av tre eldre som mottar hjemmesykepleie er i risiko for underernæring. Sykepleier har en viktig rolle i å ivareta disse pasientenes grunnleggende behov. Dersom pasienter i risiko for underernæring ikke blir identifisert tidlig nok, kan det øke risikoen for at nødvendige forebyggende tiltak ikke iverksatt, og videre føre til ytterligere forverret tilstand. Hensikt Hensikten med oppgaven er å undersøke hvilke forhold som kan ha betydning for sykepleierens funksjon ved tidlig identifisering av risiko for underernæring hos eldre pasienter som mottar hjemmesykepleie. Metode I denne oppgaven har vi benyttet oss av metoden integrativ litteraturoversikt. Tre forskningsartikler ble analysert. En kombinasjon av resultatene fra forskningsartiklene, passende bakgrunnslitteratur og selvstendige refleksjoner formet besvarelsen vår. Hovedkonklusjoner Sykepleierens funksjon i tidlig identifisering av risiko for underernæring kan bli påvirket av mangel på kunnskap, mangel på rutiner og de utfordringene som kommer av å gi helsehjelp i pasientens eget hjem.
