Chicano-forfatteren Sandra Cisneros tilhører den første generasjonen viktige Latina-forfattere i 1980 og 1990, og med sine arbeid presenterer hun rollen som Chicano og meksikanske kvinner i en machokultur. Hun fokuserer på kvinners situasjon innenfor forskjellige historier om kvinner i Latina og Chicano. Innenfor sidene hennes viser Cisneros lengsel og kvinnekamp for å være mer enn bare disse kvinnene. Nøkkelord: litteratur, sosiopolitikk, feminisme, Chicanokultur, kvinneaspekter.
