Abstract

På 1970-­‐ tallet kom danningsbegrepet inn i skolen som beskrivelse av dens grunnleggende formål. Laila Aase, en av de didaktiske forskerne som har arbeidet mest med danningsbegrepet i norskfaget de siste årene, hevder at norskfaget har en særegen posisjon i forhold til danning i skolen (Aase, 2005a). Den norske forfatteren og filosofen Jon Hellesnes skreiv en artikkel i 1969 som heter ”Ein utdanna mann og eit danna menneske”, der målet hans var å rehabilitere eller utvide danningsbegrepet. Han mener at danning ikke er noe en har, men noe en er i verden og at det er en utviklingsprosess som aldri tar slutt. Dialog med andre kan føre til en sammenflyting og utviding av forståelseshorisonten, og dette kan føre til at andre annet perspektiv på eller tenkemåter om verden. Han setter dialog som en forutsetning for danning. I tillegg sier Hellesnes at danning handler om at vi ikke godtar stående sannheter i samfunnet, men at vi har evne til å tenke kritisk (Hellesnes, 2002). Med bakgrunn i dette har jeg formulert følgende problemstilling Hvordan arbeider norsklærere med danningsperspektivet i skolen? -­‐ Hvilke syn har de på danningens plass i norskfaget? -­‐ Hvordan bruker de dialog og kritisk tenking i danningsarbeidet i norskfaget?
