Ungdommers rapportering av vold i hjemmet

Abstract

Denne artikkelen undersøker hva som øker sannsynligheten for at unge utsatt for vold i hjemmet forteller om det til noen. Den har et overordnet fokus på forskjeller mellom gutter og jenter, da får å få et mer nyansert bilde av hva som er av verdi for de ulike gruppene. Med utgangspunkt i Lazarus og Folkmans stressteori (1984) har faktorer i ungdommers sosiale nettverk og personlige egenskaper som mestringstro blitt undersøkt om dets betydning for om ungdommer sier ifra til noen. Analysene viser at det er en større andel gutter som rapporterer om å bli utsatt for vold i hjemmet enn jenter. Videre er det færre gutter enn jenter som sier ifra om det til noen. Studien viser at det å ha betydningsfulle vennerelasjoner øker sannsynligheten for at jenter sier ifra til noen. For gutter øker sannsynligheten for å si ifra til noen dersom de opplever at de har sosial støtte fra andre voksne. Derimot minker sannsynligheten for at gutter sier ifra dersom de har mestringstro. Analysene i studien er basert på tverrsnittsdata fra Ungdata-undersøkelsen. Dataene som benyttes er nasjonalt representativt av norske ungdommer utsatt for vold i hjemmet, på ungdomsskoler i Norge i årene 2017 til 2019, N=1244.
