Sosial ulikhet i barn og unges deltakelse i organiserte fritidsaktiviteter

Abstract

Participation in organized leisure activities is for children and youth an important source of community, identity and self-mastery. However, there is reason to believe that socio-economic differences continue to be reflected in the children and youth participation in such activities. Knowledge of this is important for understanding changes in children and young people's upbringing conditions in Norway. This report examines socio-economic differences in children and youths’ participation in organized leisure activities and to provide knowledge about the economic and social that hinders participation, as well as geographical variations in participation and differences in participation between youth with minority and majority backgrounds. The analyzes in the report are based on the Ungdata surveys: nationally representative cross-sectional and time series data for junior and senior high school from 2014 to 2019 and data for upper secondary school for the period 2017–2019.
