Abstract

I Karmsundet er det tidligere påvist flere områder med høyt innhold av organisk materiale. Karmøy kommune har derfor fått pålegg fra Fylkesmannen om høygradig rensing av Kopervik­kloakken og overføring av kloakk nord for Kopervik til Haugesund kommune. Denne omleggingen av kloakknettet er svært kostnadskrevende for kommunen. RF-Rogalandsforskning har på forespørsel fra kommunen undersøkt tilstanden i resipienten, laget et regnskap for tilførte mengder organisk materiale og næringssalter til Karmsundet, samt vurdert ulike tiltak for å bedre situasjonen.
