Journalisters bruk av eksperter

Abstract

Denne studien undersøker journalisters bruk av eksperter. Gjennom femten fokuserte intervju av journalister fra fire forskjellige mediehus undersøkes det hva en ekspert er, og hvorfor og hvordan journalister bruker eksperter. Temaet belyses ved hjelp av Giddens teorier om ekspertsystemer og deler av Bourdieus begrept habitus. Tidligere forskning på journalister og ekspertbruk blir også brukt for å trekke paraleller og sammenligninger til mine funn. Hovedkonklusjonen i dette studiet er at ekspertbegrepet kan tilnærmes på en vitenskapelig og en journalistisk måte. Informantene har spesialiseringsområdene sportsjournalistikk, kulturjournalistikk og allmennjournalistikk, og studien viser at dette har betydning for hvordan ekspertbegrepet brukes. Informantene har likevel til felles at eksperter blir brukt som et hjelpemiddel for å kunne utføre en objektiv og nøytral journalistikk.
