Pedagogisk leders rolle i å fremme barns sosiale kompetanse

Abstract

Formålet er å undersøke den pedagogiske lederens rolle i arbeidet med å fremme sosial kompetanse blant barna på sin avdeling eller base, med fokus på det allmennpedagogiske. Problemstillingen for studien er: Hvordan kan pedagogisk leder bidra til å fremme barns sosiale kompetanse? I studien utdypes begrepene sosial kompetanse og pedagogisk ledelse og hva disse kan innebære. I forbindelse med å fremme sosial kompetanse tar studien for seg voksenrollen, med vekt på den autoritative voksenstilen. Studien er begrenset til å gjelde det allmennpedagogiske, og i den sammenheng beskrives kartleggingsprosessen, samt systemperspektiv og individperspektiv. Gjennom ulike politiske styringsdokumenter, synliggjøres også viktigheten av å arbeide med dette temaet i barnehagen. For å undersøke problemstillingen blir det benyttet en kvalitativ tilnærming, med kvalitativt spørreskjema som metode. Tre pedagogiske ledere fra ulike barnehager deltar som informanter, og datainnsamlingen gjennomføres skriftlig på grunn av stengte barnehager i forbindelse med Covid-19. Datamaterialet og drøftingen viser at det er flere faktorer som kan være aktuelle i forbindelse med å fremme sosial kompetanse, men at flere av disse går inn i hverandre. Derimot er det to faktorer som skiller seg ut, siden de omfatter flere av de andre faktorene. Disse er personalsamarbeid og systemperspektiv.
