Abstract

Det er gjennomført oppfølgende miljøundersøkelser i ferskvann i nærområdet til Kollsnes prosessanlegg høsten 2018. Overvåkingsprogrammet gjentas hvert 5. år, og omfatter vannkjemiske og biologiske undersøkelser i to innsjøer. Både Steinsvatn og Stølevatn var næringsfattige, og tilstand i forhold til eutrofiering kan karakteriseres som Svært god for Steinsvatn og God for Stølevatn. Algebiomasse og artssammensetning av planteplankton i utgjorde forskjellen i tilstandsklasse mellom innsjøene. I forhold til forsuring vurderes begge innsjøer å være i God tilstand, men vannvegetasjonen indikerer at innsjøene fortsatt er noe påvirket av forsuring. Innholdet av nitrogenforbindelser i innsjøene har variert en del i tidligere år, men var ved undersøkelsene i 2018 lavt, og endringene fra 2008 og 2013 var ubetydelige. I begge innsjøer viste målingene en svak bedring i pH og en økning i innhold av organisk karbon (brunere farge).
