Uttak av rømt oppdrettslaks i vassdrag

Abstract

Prosjektet har undersøkt uttak av oppdrettslaks i 10 elver høsten 2007. I alt 297 laks ble kontrollert og 121 oppdrettslaks tatt ut. Garnfiske og stangfiske er effektive uttaksmetoder. Andelen oppdrettslaks i fem av elvene ble i gjennomsnitt redusert fra 35 % til 17 % (50 % relativ reduksjon). Ved visuell kontroll er deteksjon av 60–90 % av oppdrettslaksen realistisk. Ingen villaks ble feilbestemt til oppdrettslaks og avlivet. Denne type uttak vil bidra til å motvirke genetisk påvirkning fra rømt oppdrettslaks i laksevassdrag. Ressursbehovet ved uttak av oppdrettslaks består av utstyr, personell og lønnskostnader. Lokalt personell kan gjøre uttak selv, eller assistere og tilrettelegge for andre. Tilgjengelighet, fysiske forhold og laksens fordeling i vassdraget avgjør hvor egnet det er for uttak av oppdrettslaks. Fiske med kilenot o.l. like utenfor vassdraget kan være et alternativ hvis annen uttaksmetodikk er vanskelig å gjennomføre.
