En analyse av den matematiske diskursen i klasserom med omvendt undervisning

Abstract

Dette er en kvalitativ case-studie av omvendt undervisning i matematikk. Hensikten var å analysere den matematiske diskursen i slike klasserom med tanke på å si noe om nivået på diskursen og elevenes muligheter til å lære. Det er Sfards kommognitive læringsperspektiv som ligger til grunn for studien, og i dette perspektivet defineres læring som varig endring av diskurs. Data er innhentet fra to grupper i Matematikk 1T i videregående skole, og det er gjort video- og lydopptak. Datamaterialet ble analysert i tråd med MDI (Mathematical Discourse in Instruction), og deretter drøftet opp mot teoretisk grunnlag og tidligere forskning. Resultatene indikerer at endringene i diskurs hos elevene kan skje tidligere i omvendt undervisning enn i mer tradisjonell undervisning. Dette betinger at mulighetene som omvendt undervisning gir, utnyttes på riktig måte. Det viste seg at elevenes motivasjon og lærernes valg i undervisningssituasjonen hadde stor betydning for hvorvidt den omvendte undervisningen var effektiv.
