Cooperative learning, og utviklingen av sosial kompetanse

Authors: Paulsbyen, Robin;

Cooperative learning, og utviklingen av sosial kompetanse

Abstract

English: This qualitative task addresses the topic of Cooperative Learning, and how the method can help develop the social competence of the students in school. The social competence of the students is a basic precondition for being able to relate to and act in a social reality, with increasing demands on individual skills and the individual's position within the community (Utdanningsdirektoratet, 2011). The development of social competence has a major impact on factors such as learning environment, cooperation skills and the prevention of bullying (Kagan & Stenlev, 2006). The findings in this thesis show that Cooperative Learning is being used as a tool to improve a variety of skills, and not just the social skills. The schools in this survey are working on the method in a way that make the pupils challenged to collaborate, communicate and make decisions in a safe environment, focusing on improving the social skills of each individual and the learning environment in the class.
