Abstract

Planteaktiviteten i Hedmark har økt betraktelig og ligger nå på samme nivå som på 1980-tallet. Dette gjelder både i areal og antall planter. Foredlet plantemateriale av furu har fått mer fokus de siste årene og er nå lettere tilgjengelig enn tidligere. Allikevel ser man at det plantes relativt lite furu i forhold til gran. Målsettingen med denne oppgaven er å se på høydetilveksten til foredlet plantemateriale av furu sammenlignet med naturlig forynget furu. En rask høydevekst er positivt for et kortere omløp og derfor tømmer til næringen, inntekter til skogeier og ringvirkninger til samfunnet. Bestandene som er undersøkt i dette studiet ligger i Osdalen, Åmot kommune, i Hedmark fylke. Bestandene ble valgt ut på bakgrunn av deres geografiske plassering i nærheten av hverandre, relativt lik bonitet og høydelag, samt årstall for foryngelsestiltaket. Resultatene viser at plantene fra foredlet plantemateriale hadde større høydevekst enn plantene fra naturlig foryngelse. Resultatene fra dette studiet er noe vanskelig å overføre direkte til andre bestand. Studiet begrenser seg til et mindre geografisk område i Hedmark og man kan ikke generalisere resultatene uten videre. Resultatene gir likevel en god indikasjon på at foredlet plantemateriale har en bedre høydevekst enn planter fra naturlig forynging. Det stemmer overens med tilsvarende studier utført i blant annet Polen og Finland.

Plant activity in Hedmark has increased considerably and is now at the same level as in the 1980s. This applies to both area and number of plants. Processed pine plant material has gained more focus in recent years and is now more available. But there is still relatively little pine planted in relation to spruce. The aim of this task is to look at the height growth of planted pine compared with natural rejuvenated pine. Rapid height growth is positive for a shorter circulation and therefore logs to the industry, income for forest owners and ripple effect to society. The area looked at in this study are located in Osdalen, Åmot municipality, in Hedmark county. The tree stands were chosen based on their geographical location close to each other, relatively similar site index and height above sea level, as well as years for the rejuvenation measures. The results show that the plants from processed plant material had higher height growth than the plants from natural rejuvenation. The results of this study are somewhat difficult to transfer directly to other tree stands. The study is limited to a smaller geographical area in Hedmark and you can not generalize the results. However, the results provide a good indication that processed plant material has a better height growth than plants from natural rejuvenation. This corresponds to similar studies conducted in Poland and Finland.
