Sosial ulikhet i bruk av helsetjenester. En kartlegging

Abstract

I hvilken grad er det sosiale forskjeller i bruk av lege, sykehus, fysioterapeut, tannlege og psykolog? Rapporten viser at grupper med lav utdanning/inntekt har dårligere helse og generelt bruker helsetjenester i større grad enn grupper med høyere utdanning/inntekt. I tillegg til utdanning og inntekt ser rapporten sammenhengen mellom kjønn, alder, helsetilstand og helsetjenestebruk. I grupper med mindre enn god helse er det relativt liten sosial ulikhet i bruk av de fleste tjenestene. Størst forskjeller i helsetjenestebruk er det i grupper med god helse og blant eldre. Forhold som legemiddelbruk og tilfredshet med helsetjenester blir også omtalt i denne rapporten. Inntektsnivået ser ut til å ha mer å si for ulik bruk av helsetjenester enn utdanningsnivå. Generelt bruker grupper med mindre enn god helse, helsetjenester i større grad enn dem med god helse. Kvinner bruker helsetjenester mer enn menn, og eldre bruker mer enn yngre. Arbeidet med denne rapporten er finansiert av Helsedirektoratets Avdeling for levekår og helse.
