Holdninger over for rusmisbrukere

Abstract

Problemstilling Hvordan kan holdninger få konsekvenser for behandlingen av rusmisbrukere på en somatisk sengepost? Teoretisk perspektiv I teoridelen vil temaene holdninger, stigma, roller og sykepleierens rammefaktorer bli presentert. Til slutt omtaltes Joyce Travelbees teorier om mellommenneskelige aspekter i sykepleie, og hennes faser i etableringen av et menneske-til-menneske-forhold. Metode En litteraturstudie hvor fag- og forskningslitteratur blir anvendt for å underbygge og drøfte problemstillingen. Forskningsartiklene ble funnet gjennom litteratursøk i databasene; Cinahl, PubMed og Google Scholar. Drøfting I drøftingskapittelet diskuteres det mulige årsaker til negative holdninger, sykepleierens etiske idealer og moralsk stress, holdningers konsekvenser for Travelbees mellom-menneskelige-forhold, og holdningers konsekvenser for behandlingen som blir gitt til rusmisbrukere på en somatisk sengepost. Konklusjon Sykepleieres stigmatisering av rusmisbrukere er et utbredt fenomen i somatikken. I følge forskningen fører dette blant annet til at sykepleiere møter denne pasientgruppen med en tilnærming preget av mistillit og distansering. Dette hindrer sykepleieren i å identifiserer og møte pasientens behov, noe som er kjernen i sykepleierens arbeid.
