Abstract

Utslepp av klimagassar frå menneskeleg aktivitet fører til global oppvarming og klimaendringar som kan få store konsekvensar. Det er ei målsetting å redusere klimagassutsleppa frå alle sektorar globalt, nasjonalt og regionalt. Nasjonalt står landbruket for 9-13% av klimagassutsleppa og utslepp av metan (CH4) og lystgass (N2O) er det dominerande. Klimagassbidraget frå jordbruket i Hordaland er i denne rapporten estimert til rundt 197 000 tonn CO2-ekvivalentar per år når ein reknar med det som blir rapportert under sektor jordbruk til FN sin klimakonvensjon. Metanutslepp frå fordøyelsen til husdyr er den største utsleppskjelda frå jordbruket i Hordaland og er estimert til rundt 106 000 tonn CO2-ekvivalentar per år (54%). Lagring og spreiing av husdyrgjødsel (inkludert gjødsel frå beitedyr) står for rundt 32 000 tonn CO2-ekvivalentar (16%), jordbruksdrift på organisk jord for rundt 23 000 tonn CO2-ekvivalentar (12%) og gjødsling med nitrogenhalding handelsgjødsel for 21 000 CO2-ekvivalentar (11%). Skog er det dominerende arealbruk i Hordaland fylke. Skogen i Hordaland lagrar ca. 21 millioner tonn CO2 i biomasse, der 35% av dette er lagra i granskog, 36% i furuskog og 29% i lauvtreskog. I gjennomsnitt har skogen i Hordaland tatt opp ca. 1 400 000 tonn CO2 per år i biomasse.
