Sosiale ulikheter i oppvekst : en humanitær utfordring

Abstract

Rapporten tar for seg sosiale ulikheter i oppvekst, med fokus på økonomi, helse og utdanning. Hensikten med rapporten er å peke på hvilke humanitære utfordringer vi står overfor i Norge i dag knyttet til barn og unges situasjon. Rapporten viser at vi finner systematiske sosiale ulikheter i oppvekst der det er den samme gruppe barn og unge som er utsatt på alle områdene vi har studert. Den sosiale ulikheten ser også ut til å reproduseres. Forklaringene på denne ulikheten er sammensatt, men det kan se ut til at sosiale forklaringer er fremtredende. Vår vurdering er at dette samlede sosioøkonomiske ulikhetsbilde i oppvekst og reproduksjon av sosiale ulikheter, er vår tids største humanitære utfordring i Norge. Denne kunnskapen er av betydning både for fag, forskning, politikk og frivillige/humanitære organisasjoner.
