Vitenskapsteoretiske posisjoner innen norsk friluftslivsforskning

Abstract

Friluftsliv som eget forskningsfelt har et relativt begrenset omfang, men har nær tilknytning til andre og større forskningsfelt som fritid, turisme, kultur og naturforvaltning. Sentrale tema for den norske forskningen har vært; mønster og omfang i aktivitetsutøvelse, motivasjon, miljøpreferanser, friluftslivets mening, og betydning for helse og nasjonal identitet. Denne store spennvidden har ført til en forskning som er preget av et stort mangfold. Dette mangfoldet har også ført til tydelige motsetninger mellom tilhengere av ulike teoretiske og metodiske tilnærminger. Dette på tross av at forskningsfeltet ikke har vært etablert i stort mer enn 30 år, og ikke har hatt særlig omfang før de siste 10-15 årene. Denne artikkelen har derfor til hensikt å kartlegge og beskrive skillelinjer innenfor norsk friluftslivsforskning, samtidig som deler av forskningen knyttes til ulike vitenskapsteoretiske posisjoner.
