Barnevern i et minoritetsperspektiv. Evaluering av videreutdanningstilbud tilknyttet flerkulturelt barnevern

Abstract

Målet med dette prosjektet har vært å evaluere videreutdanningen Barnevern i et minoritetsperspektiv som er et samarbeidsprosjekt mellom høgskolene i Oslo, Telemark, Lillehammer og Finnmark, og som finansieres av Barne-, likestillings- og inkluderingsdepartementet (BLD). Hovedmålsetningen med videreutdanningen er at deltakerne skal opparbeide kunnskap om hva et kultursensitivt barnevern innebærer, samt øke egne ferdigheter i arbeidet med barn, unge og familier med minoritetsbakgrunn. Hovedinntrykket er at dette er en faglig sterk og godt gjennomført utdanning. Etter vår mening har videreutdanningen kvaliteter som kan bidra til et barnevern nærmere målsetningen om et likeverdig tjenestetilbud for alle uansett bakgrunn. Ut fra vår evaluering finner vi at de største svakhetene ved utdanningen ligger i mulighetene for å ta kompetansen videre, og vedlikeholde og videreføre den i praksisfeltet. Viktige målsetninger bør være å satse enda sterkere på deltakere fra praksisfeltet gjennom bevisste rekrutteringsstrategier med aktiv markedsføring, knytte sterkere bånd mellom arbeidsgivere, ansatte og høgskolene, og vurdere om videreutdanningen skal ses som et av flere tiltak rettet mot praksisfeltet for å heve kompetansen innen barnevernet på minoritetsfeltet
