Sjøsaltepisoder under vinterstormene i 2005 - påvirkning og effekter på vannkjemi i vassdrag

Abstract

En rekke ekstremvær, blant annet stormene ”Gudrun” og ”Inga”, rammet Sør-Norge vinteren 2005. Vannkjemiske data fra en rekke programmer og prosjekter er vurdert og analysert for å få oversikt over påvirkning og effekter i vassdrag. Rapporten er også basert på data for nedbørmengde og kvalitet, vannføring og værobservasjoner. ”Inga” gikk nordover og hadde sin østgrense ved Roskreppfjorden mellom Setesdal og Sirdal, mens områder langs Agderkysten også ble påvirket av ”Gudrun”. Sjøsaltpåvirkningen vinteren 2005 er sammenliknbar med tidligere ”sjøsaltvintere” på Sørvest- og Vestlandet. Denne undersøkelsen bekrefter imidlertid tidligere resultater som viser at sjøsaltpåvirkning gir mindre effekt på potensielt giftig uorganisk aluminium i takt med redusert forsuring. Vannet er klarere under sjøsaltepisoder, noe som øker den relative andelen av uorganisk aluminium i vannet. Årsakene bør undersøkes nærmere.
