Overvåking av vannkvalitet i ferskvann ved Tjeldbergodden 2004

Abstract

Vannkvalitet er overvåket i områder rundt Tjeldbergodden i forbindelse med utslipp av nitrogenoksider fra metanolfabrikken på stedet. På tre hovedstasjoner er det foretatt vannprøvetakinger med en eller to ukers mellomrom gjennom et helt år Reinsjøen ved Tjeldbergodden i Aure, Terningvatn i Agdenes, og referanselokaliteten Øvre Neådalsvatn i Surnadal. Ytterlige 37 innsjøer i kommunene Hitra, Aure, Hemne, Snillfjord, Agdenes og Rissa ble prøvetatt en gang. Overvåkingsprogrammet har hatt samme omfang og metodologi som tidligere undersøkelser i området. Rapporten dokumenterer måleresultater for perioden juni 2003 - juni 2004 og variasjonen i vannkjemi fra begynnelsen av overvåkingen i 1993 til 2004. Området er generelt lite påvirket av langtransportert forurensing. Nitratkonsentrasjonen i Terningvatn har økt noe mens alkalitet, et mål for vannets bufferevne mot forsuring, økte litt i Reinsjøen og Terningvatn, men ikke i referanselokaliteten. Variasjonen i vannkjemi i Reinsjøen og Terningvatn blir i hovedsak styrt av sjøsaltepisoder, mens i referanselokaliteten er variasjonen i vannkjemi sesongavhengig. Effekter av nitrogenutslippene fra metanolfabrikken på vannkvalitet er så langt ikke påvist.
