Overvåking av vannkvalitet i ferskvann ved Tjeldbergodden 1993-2000

Abstract

Vannkvalitet er overvåket i områder omkring Tjeldbergodden i forbindelse med etablering av metanolfabrikken. På tre hovedstasjoner er vannkvalitet overvåket regelmessig: Reinsjøen ved Tjeldbergodden i Aure, Terningvatn i Agdenes, og i referanselokaliteten Øvre Neådalsvatn i Surnadal. I tillegg er det tatt årlige prøver om høsten i ytterligere 36 innsjøer i kommunene Hitra, Aure, Hemne, Snillfjord, Agdenes og Rissa. Rapporten dokumenterer måleresultater for perioden mai 1997 - mai 2000, og variasjon i vannkvalitet gjennom perioden 1993-2000. Med unntak for én innsjø i Hemne som er påvirket av lokale inngrep, er de vannkjemiske endringene små, og området er generelt lite påvirket av både langtransportert og lokal forurensning. I løpet av måleperioden 1993-2000 har mengden ioner av marin opprinnelse sunket i innsjøenes avrenning, og det samme kan også spores for mengden av ikke-marint sulfat. Samtidig har surhetsgraden (pH) steget svakt i perioden. Det er ikke påvist noen endring i mengdene av totalt nitrogen eller nitrat-nitrogen i innsjøene.
