Beregning av opprinnelig vannkjemi i forsurede innsjøer - uttesting av en regnemodell

Abstract

Vi har laget et excel-basert regneark som kan brukes for å beregne den vannkjemi innsjøer hadde før forsuring, dvs. for omlag 100 år siden. pH og de viktigste hovedioner regnes ut basert på kjente empiriske sammenhenger fra de nasjonale innsjøundersøkelsene, samt en del antakelser og forenklinger. Beregningene kan gjøres for ukalkede innsjøer, forutsetter at dagens vannkjemi er målt. For å teste modellens robusthet er det gjennomført beregninger av førforsurings vannkjemi for 13 innsjøer og basert på vannkjemi for sju påfølgende år. Innsjøene representerer særlig humøse skogsvann på Østlandet og "tynne" heivann på Sør- og Sørvestlandet. Undersøkelsen viser at det også i perioden før den menneskeskapte forsuringen startet kan ha vært lave pH-verdier i en rekke innsjøer. Dette skyldes dels at høye konsentrasjoner av løst organisk stoff gir et naturlig surt vann, dels at forvitringen i mange områder er så beskjeden fra naturens side at pH ikke kan bli høyere enn 5,0 - 5,5. I rapporten redegjøres det for modellen, de forenklinger som er gjort og hvordan variasjoner i dagens målte vannkjemi slår ut på beregningen av opprinnelig vannkjemi.
