Forsuring av overflatevann - beregningsmetodikk, trender og mottiltak. (Acidification of surface waters - methods, trends and countermeasures)

Abstract

Begrepet "naturens tålegrenser" (eng. critical load) er idag akseptert som utgangspunkt for politiske beslutninger om reduksjoner i utslipp av svovel og nitrogen. Det tallmaterialet som framskaffes gir grunnlag for og dermed muligheten til, via internasjonale forhandlinger, å fatte politiske beslutninger om miljømål som står direkte i forhold til tålegrensene. Denne rapporten sammenstiller de metoder som er utviklet og anvendt i Norge i arbeidet med tålegrenser for overflatevann og for kalking. Den presenterer ajourførte beregninger av tålegrenseoverskridelser og kalkkostnader idag og effektene av den nye svovelprotokollen som ble undertegnet i Oslo i juni 1994. Den inkluderer også det arbeidet som er gjort med å lage en skadefunksjon for forholdet mellom tålegrenseoverskridelser og fiskeskader.
