Overvåking av PAH i muslinger, snegl og fisk fra Sunndalsfjorden 1991 - 1992

Abstract

Konsentrasjoner av polysykliske aromatiske hydrokarboner (PAH) i blåskjell, o-skjell og strandsnegl var betraktelig redusert i 1991 sammenlignet med tilsvarende undersøkelser i 1987. Gjennomsnittlig reduksjon for de 9 undersøkte stasjoner i Sunndalsfjorden var i størrelsesordenen 90% for de tre organismegruppene. Dette er sammenfallende med en samlet utslippsreduksjon til luft og vann på 80-90% i perioden 1987-1992. Tross dette anses blåskjell, o-skjell og strandsnegl fortsatt å være moderat belastet i de indre deler av fjorden. Belastningen i de ytre områdene var i 1991 ubetydelig. Dagens PAH-nivåer tilsvarte fra 1 til 10 ganger nivået som anses som høyt bakgrunnsnivå for disse organismene. Analysene av PAH-nivåene i fisk fra ytre og indre fjord viste et innholdet i filet av torsk og sandflyndre på hhv. 3-5 µg/kg og 6-9 µg/kg friskvekt. Innholdet i lever på ca. 200 µg/kg torsk og ca. 160 µg/kg friskvekt for sandflyndre fra indre fjord. Dette anses å være noe forhøyet. Tilsvarende konsentrasjoner i lever fra de ytre fjordområder var hhv. 30 µg/kg og 37 µg/kg.
