Abstract

Rapporten omfatter tidligere kunnskap om vannutskiftningen, samt presentere resultater fra 1988-1989. I Frierfjorden, Langesundsfjorden og Håøyfjorden ligger overflatelagets oppholdstid på intervallet timer - dager. I Eidanger- og Ormefjorden er den betydelig lenger. Innenfor Brevik er oppholdstiden 2 -4 uker for det intermediære vannlag, - utenfor Brevik 1-2 uker. Ormefjordens og Håøyfjordens dypvann var overveiende stagnant begge år, med kritiske oksygenforhold. Oppholdstiden er vanskelig å anslå, men varierer trolig i intervallet 1-3 år.
