Abstract

I denne rapporten er det, med basis i et stort analysemateriale av planteplankton fra innsjøer fra store deler av Norge, forsøkt å komme fram til et tallmessig uttrykk for ulike planteplanktongrupper og -arters indikatorverdi med hensyn til vannkvalitet. Som grunnlag for inndelingen i trofinivåene er benyttet det totale algevolum og hovedvekten er lagt på de enkelte artenes indikatorverdi sett i forhold til dette. Indikatorverdi er også sett i forhold til pH-verdier, totalfosfor, totalnitrogen og N/P-forhold. Mer enn 150 taxa er behandlet og resultatene for de enkelte taxon sett i relasjon til ulike parametre er fremstilt i tabeller/figurer i et omfattende vedlegg. I rapporten er også gitt et forslag til et indikatorsystem for bestemmelse av en vannmassens trofinivå eller kvalitet, basert på planteplanktonets mengde og sammensetning. I det videre arbeid med bruk av planteplankton som indikatorer på vannkvalitet bør indekssystemets almene gyldighet testes på et stort analysemateriale. Et velegnet materiale er SFT's undersøkelse av regionale eutrofe innsjøer, som omfatter ca 1400 analyseserier med tilhørende kjemisk/fysisk data.
