Abstract

Dette masterprosjektet har til hensikt å undersøke hvordan elever som i løpet av ungdomstiden har fått opplæring ved en sykehusskole gjennomfører videregående opplæring, og hvilke erfaringer de har gjort seg i sitt utdanningsløp. Studien består av to undersøkelser: en registerstudie og en intervjustudie. Registerstudien viser at vi har å gjøre med sårbare elever som på gruppenivå fullfører videregående i langt mindre grad enn sine jevnaldrende på landsbasis. I intervjustudien presenteres fortellingene til seks ungdommer som i stor grad har lykkes til tross for omfattende og vedvarende utfordringer med hensyn til sin psykiske helse. Studien utforsker hva det er som har hatt en slik læringsstøttende effekt at disse elevene har lykkes med å fullføre skolegangen til tross for vedvarende store belastninger knyttet til sin psykiske helse.
