Abstract

Målet med denne oppgaven er få mer kunnskap rundt temaet jentemobbing. Salmivalli(2006) beskriver jentemobbing som en slags usynlig form for mobbing. Mobbingen dreier seg ofte om utstøting, intriger, ryktemakeri og manipulering, i motsetning til guttenes mobbing som gjerne er mer synlig, åpenbar og mer voldelig. Skjult aggresjon eller skjult mobbing gjør at mobberne fortsatt anses som ”snille piker”(Simmons, 2002). Av den grunn kan det gjerne være vanskeligere for jenter å innrømme at de mobber, noe som kan være en av årsakene til at denne type mobbing er underrapportert(Flack, 2007). På bakgrunn av dette er problemstillingen i oppgaven: Hvordan forklare jentemobbing – hvorfor og hvordan mobber jenter? Oppgavens teori er bl.a. basert på Aronsen(2004), Berkowitz(1993) og Bjørkly(2001), som alle er forskere innenfor aggresjonsperspektivet. Roland(2007), Besag(1989) Simmons(2002) og Goodwin(2006), er anerkjente forskere innenfor temaet, mobbing. De to sist nevnte har spesialkompetanse når det gjelder jentemobbing. I oppgaven er det brukt kvalitativ forskningsmetode. Det å oppnå forståelse av sosiale fenomener er en viktig målsetting i forhold til kvalitative tilnærminger.(Thagaard, 2009) I oppgaven anvendes det kvalitative forskningsintervju, nærmere bestemt et semistrukturert fokusgruppeintervju. Utvalget består av 15 jenter i 7. klasse, fra 3 ulike skoler. Gruppene fra hver skole består av 5 informanter. Det ser ut som om informantene er kjent med temaet jentemobbing. De gir ulike forklaringer på hvorfor og hvordan jenter mobber hverandre. De eksemplifiserer også ulike typer og taktikker for mobbing, samtidig som de begrunner disse. Det kan se ut til at informantene er redde for å bli oppdaget når det gjelder mobbing. De viser derfor til ulike metoder som blir tatt i bruk for å unngå dette, i form av pådrivere som makt, tilhørighet og status. Videre ser det ut til at disse faktorene blir utnyttet i form av skjult mobbing, nettopp i frykt for å bli oppdaget.
