Abstract

Oljeselskapene foretar bedriftsøkonomiske kalkyler av å benytte strøm fra det europeiske nettet versus fra egne gassgeneratorer. CO2-avgiften og kvoteplikt gir selskapene ekstrainsentiver i retning av elektrifisering. bør myndighetene gjennomføre ytterligere tiltak i favør av elektrifisering ut fra klimahensyn? Nei, tiltakene er dyre og elektrifisering vil ikke redusere globale utslipp. Man kan se dette på to måter. utslippene er omfattet av EUs kvoteavtale og samlet utslipp er dermed uendret. Om man ser på fysiske strømmer får man samme konklusjon: tiltaket vil primært medføre en flytting av utslipp.
