Sør-Sudan - snart på egne bein : økonomiske utfordringer i Sør-Sudan

Abstract

Folkeavstemningen i Sudan 9. januar i år gikk riktig vei for sørsudanerne. Det overveldende resultatet for løsrivelse ble raskt akseptert av styresmaktene nord i landet. Nå gjenstår det å se hvordan det går med landet etter løsrivelsen 9. juli. Norge har vært en viktig bidragsyter og pådriver for institusjonsbygging i det sørlige Sudan, noe som er en av forutsetningene for å bli et selvstendig land. Statistisk sentralbyrå har siden slutten av 2005 vært en hovedsamarbeidspartner for statistikkbyrået i Juba, hovedstaden i det som snart skal bli republikken Sør-Sudan.
