Befolkningen blir eldre

Abstract

Befolkningsframskrivinger viser at befolkningen vil bli eldre, nesten uansett hvilke forutsetninger som gjøres. Norge får ingen midlertidig eldrebølge, men en varig høy eldreandel og forsørgerbyrde. Aldringen unngås ikke ved økning av fruktbarhet eller nettoinnvandring som er innenfor realistiske nivåer. Det er reist spørsmål om Statistisk sentralbyrå har forutsatt for høy vekst i levealderen framover. Forutsetningen om levealderen er basert på utviklingen i Norge de siste 30 år og flere andre land regner med like høy levealder i framtiden som Norge.
