Er Oslo Børs svakteffisient? : en test av teknisk analyse

Abstract

Hensikten med denne utredningen er å teste hvorvidt Oslo børs var svakt effisient i perioden 1.1.1999-1.1.2010. Dette gjøres ved å teste om en handlestrategi, basert på teknisk analyse, klarer å oppnå meravkastning over en kjøp-og-hold strategi. Handlestrategien som benyttes tar blant annet utgangspunkt i å handle på brudd av støtte- og motstandsnivåer. Ifølge teorien indikerer brudd på ett av disse nivåene at likevekten mellom kjøpere og selgere er forandret og skal etableres på et nytt nivå. Handlestrategien oppnår en signifikant meravkastning over kjøp-og-hold strategien på 5,56 % årlig, justert for både transaksjonskostnader og risikoeksponering. I tillegg så identifiserer den vinnerhandler i over 60% av tilfellene. Maksimale transaksjonskostnader som gir signifikant positiv meravkastning er 0,68%. Resultatene antyder at handlestrategien kan benyttes til å forutse prisbevegelser. Jeg konkluderer dermed med å forkaste nullhypotesen om at Oslo Børs var svakt effisient i denne perioden.
