ROV – Remoted Operated Vehicle

Abstract

Hovudmålet med prosjektet var å bygge ein slitesterk og brukarvennleg observasjonsklasse ROV som kunne brukast ned til 20 meter. ROV står for Remotely Operated Vehicle som på norsk vert kalla fjernstyrt miniubåt og prosjektet omhandla planlegging, prosjektering og konstruksjon. Utfordringa var å kapsle utstyret godt nok inn slik at det vart vasstett, utvikle ein utsjånad som gjorde at ROVen vart stabil og enkel å styre. Det vart også sett på tema som framdrift, oppdrift, styring, kamera, lys, sensorar og straumforsyning. Resultatet vart ein ROV som vart trykktesta tilsvarande 20 meter med vatn der alt fungerer slik det skulle. Gruppa øydela kameraet under montering og fekk difor ikkje prøvd ubåten i vatn.
