Cloud computing: slutten for tradisjonell IT outsourcing?

Abstract

I de siste årene har en ny trend innen IT verden, Cloud Computing inntatt IT markedet verden over. Cloud Computings tjenesteorienterte løsning har det ført til hete debatter blant eksperter om at skytjenester vil komme til å revolusjonere IT outsourcings industrien. Siden det ikke finnes tidligere forskning rundt temaet, har jeg valgt å utføre en studie som fokuserer seg på hvordan Cloud Computing kommer til å se ut i fremtiden i det norske markedet, og om Cloud Computing vil bety slutten for IT outsourcingen som vi kjenner til i dag. Gjennom studien har jeg gjennomført 10 kvalitative intervjuer med aktørene og brukere for å kunne kartlegge mulige scenarioer for hvordan fremtiden i det norske markedet ser ut. Funn fra undersøkelsen viser at det er forskjellige meninger som medgår rundt IT outsourcing i fremtiden. Etterspørselen etter Cloud Computing i det norske markedet har ikke vært som forventet i forhold til det internasjonale markedet, men flere mener at det vil komme seg etterhvert, noe som en rekke undersøkelser fra vitenskapelige tidsskrifter har påvist. Flere aktører nå forbereder seg på at etterspørselen vil stige, ved å bygge skyparker og lanseringer av nye skytjenester som de kan tilby til kundene. Fremtiden for Cloud Computing i Norge ser lyst ut, men funnene fra studie viser at det finnes en rekke utfordringer og bekymringer som må løses først, før kundene tør å satse mere på skytjenester.
