Abstract

Forfatter: Linn Enersen Pedersen Tittel: Forebygging av frafall i barne- og ungdomsidrett Problemområde: Frafall i barne- og ungdomsidretten Problemstilling: “Hvordan kan vi som trenere forebygge frafall i barne- og ungdomsidretten?” Nøkkelord: Frafall, motivasjon, medbestemmelse, tidlig spesialisering, talentbegrepet. Metode: Det er benyttet kvalitativ metode i denne oppgaven. Innsamling av data har foregått gjennom et litteratursøk. Resultat: Funnene gjort i dette studiet viser at det er vanskelig å peke ut én bestemt årsak til frafall i barne- og ungdomsidretten. Årsakene er mange og sammensatte, hvor trener som faktor utgjør kun en liten del. Trener kan påvirke utøvernes motivasjon gjennom å legge til rette for et oppgaveklima, samt tilfredsstille de grunnleggende, psykologiske behovene; kompetanse, autonomi og tilhørighet.
