Bildebøker i det moderne klasserom

Abstract

Summary: ”Bildebøker i det moderne klasserom” is an essay which looks at and compares analog and digital picture books. The traditional picture book is now in competition with the digital ones. The main focus in this essay is on motivation of reading picture books. The essay will look at advantages and disadvantages of the picture books. Pupils’ skills in reading are related to their motivation to read. The teacher must be able to motivate their students, and varied teaching methods are important. It must be sees as a challenge for the school to preserve the traditional values that the analog picture book provides. At the same time the digital books have made room for new opportunities. Kunnskapsløftet (2006) had reading and computer skills as two of its five basic skills. With this as its starting point, teachers have the challenge to use new methods and modern equipment. It is also challenging for the schools to keep track of all the different children’s interests when it comes to those new tablets and then use pedagogical reading strategies on multimodal texts.
