Abstract

El presente ensayo explica el origen y características del marxismo analítico y expone tres de sus modelos más representativos. El objetivo es evaluar qué resultados marxistas tradicionales son ratificados por el individualismo metodológico y cuáles son refutados. En concreto, se examina el modelo de no desarrollo precapitalista y desarrollo capitalista de Brenner (1986). En dicho modelo se refuta la tesis marxista habitual que señala que el nivel de desarrollo de las fuerzas productivas determina las relaciones de propiedad vigentes. Roemer (1982), con su modelo de explotación y clases sociales, ratifica la correspondencia entre clases sociales y estatus de explotación, pero redefine el concepto de explotación marxista. Finalmente, Przeworski (1980) especifica en qué condiciones se daría una transición al socialismo y en cuáles no, y concluye que el sistema de producción capitalista vigente es el resultado de las decisiones racionales de los agentes. Previo a la exposición de los modelos se esgrimen algunas consideraciones respecto al marxismo tradicional y su método, y se hace referencia a las presuntas bondades que el individualismo metodológico puede aportar a los casos de estudio marxistas.
