Un reto social: la accesibilidad cognitiva

Abstract

La accesibilidad cognitiva es una forma de adaptar la información del entorno para que personas con dificultades puedan comprenderlo. Este trabajo tiene como objetivo conocer la situación, en cuanto a accesibilidad cognitiva, de la Asociación Protectora de Personas con Discapacidad Intelectual de la Comarca del Andévalo (APAMYS). Se realiza una investigación para analizar las necesidades y la opinión de profesionales y personas con discapacidad intelectual del Centro Ocupacional de la entidad. Para ello, se han elaborado cuestionarios en lectura fácil y pictogramas para usuarios y entrevistas para profesionales. Las conclusiones muestran que la accesibilidad cognitiva es un fenómeno nuevo, una nueva filosofía. Poco a poco se están haciendo grandes avances pero existe la necesidad de hacer cambios. Las personas con discapacidad intelectual encuentran problemas a la hora de conocer el horario de los programas a los que pertenecen, la figura de cada profesional, los carteles, recibir información adaptada a su persona, rellenar una documentación totalmente comprensible o incluso estar informado de asuntos que les afecta indirectamente.
