Abstract

El éxito creciente de los videojuegos es una realidad en la sociedad del siglo XXI y constituyen el 54 por ciento del consumo del ocio audiovisual e interactivo en España durante el año 2007. Uno de los aspectos a tener en consideración de cara a la educación de los menores es el hecho de las implicaciones del consumo en relación a los videojuegos. La violencia en los videojuegos es uno de los principales tópicos en la literatura sobre el estudio de los efectos de los videojuegos en la conducta infantil. Sin embargo, no se trata únicamente de proteger a los menores de los riesgos del uso de los videojuegos sin control o cuidado por parte de los padres o los educadores. Desde hace muchos años, a pesar de sus riesgos, los videojuegos se vienen utilizando como un medio más en la educación.
